RSS feeds are revolutionizing the way savvy web users get their news, information and entertainment. RSS is a technology that enables the reader to grab new writing from many different newspapers and blogs and display it all together in one easy-to-read place, using an RSS reader tool on your PC or even a new personalized Google homepage. Here's how to find some good RSS feeds on the internet.
Steps
- Visit a directory of RSS feeds. Sites such as Syndic8 and 2RSS are attempting to categorize all the RSS feeds out there.
- Search for RSS feeds using a search engine designed to find them such as Feedfinder on Feedster.com. Yahoo and Google both offer searches focused on RSS that can be accessed when you attempt to add content to the MyYahoo / Google Personalized Homepage of the respective sites.
- Check out the blogs you like to read on a regular basis. Most blogs have an RSS feed, just look for the orange RSS or XML icon.
- Consider subscribing to the RSS feeds from major news outlets. The New York Times and ESPN are just two of the many mainstream news sources that have RSS feeds. For Today newspaper, you can find the RSS feeds here (a courtesy of U-Zyn).
